Rafael is a scientist in a San Antonio startup company who creates innovations in the organ/tissue preservation medical device field. A founding member of the consulting group Commercialization Catalysts, he has experience in market and risk analysis, licensing, and IP protection and strategy in the biotech industry. As an NIH Research Fellow, he conducted pre-clinical studies in stroke and traumatic brain injury, particularly in pharmaceutical target development and analysis. Rafael has extensive consulting and global health experience working abroad with international non-profit organizations including the WHO and UNICEF. As a Rotary International Ambassador and Fogarty Global Health Fellow, Rafael has served as a consultant to the WHO and UNICEF on HIV, polio, and other public health projects in many parts of Africa. Rafael seeks to leverage his expertise to create strategy and business development for scientists, entrepreneurs, and biotechnology startups.
